MAUBOUSSIN Paris, circa 1940/1950 - Lot 50
MAUBOUSSIN Paris, circa 1940/1950 Bracelet in 750° yellow gold with rope motif and 950° platinum studded with 88 modern brilliant-cut diamonds totaling approx. 6.80 ct Gross weight: 107.80 g Poinçon de maître Verger Fils since 1935 Signed Mauboussin Paris Inside circumference: 150 mm Founded in Paris in 1875 by Ferdinand Verger, the Verger company quickly established itself as one of the most renowned watchmakers in the city. Taken over by his sons Georges and Henri, and then under the Verger Fils name from 1935 onwards, it distinguished itself by its exceptional technical mastery and ability to produce models for the greatest jewelry houses. A behind-the-scenes manufacturer, Verger Fils notably worked for prestigious names such as Mauboussin, contributing to the creation of pieces with bold designs and impeccable craftsmanship. This collaboration illustrates the essential role played by these workshops in the history of twentieth-century Parisian jewelry. The bracelet presented, circa 1940-1950, in yellow gold and platinum, with a rope motif and set with diamonds, bears the Verger Fils hallmark. It bears witness to this savoir-faire, both powerful in its volume and refined in its execution. The company was taken over in 1960 by the workshop of Georges Lenfant, another great name in Parisian jewelry manufacturing.
